This United Telephone Company of Pennsylvania tower is now likely operated by Sprint. There are towers with similar labeling next to the Sprint CO in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania and a Sprint facility in Carlisle, Pennsylvania. It doesn't appear to be equipped for microwave backup links for telephone trunks, but is perhaps used for mobile communications internal to the company. The support building is quite extensive. It has an identifier of "FM-7643" posted on it. |
